Hello, my name is Linda Rose.

I have operated a private fitness training studio in my home near Austin, Texas for well over a decade. I’ve recently relocated to the Garrettsville/Hiram area of northeastern Ohio, where I have just recently opened for business. My focus is on providing women with personally designed training programs to help them reach their individual fitness goals, in a private, non-intimidating environment.

My initial certification and the opening of my studio in the Austin (TX) area, in June of 2000, represented the culmination of my more than thirty years in the pursuit of the ultimate in feminine fitness training. In the years since, I have attained certifications in six other areas including Specialist in Fitness nutrition and Specialist in Fitness Therapy. I have recently reached "Elite" status with ISSA (The International Sports Sciences Association) and I am currently working toward "Master" status. I am pleased to be able to offer each of my clients the benefits of my many certifications and years of experience, in the form of a program specifically tailored to achieve maximum results, in the most efficient manner possible.

My passion for helping women bring good nutrition back into their homes, in a manageable way, is always a priority. Fitness begins in the kitchen, and knowledge helps you make those changes.

I want to help you make your life better. That's very important to me. I believe anyone can reach their fitness ideals, sometimes you just need a professional to help you get started.  Just bring your positive attitude and a genuine desire to succeed. I'll provide the tools, training, and personal attention  necessary to achieve, and maintain, those "Fine Lines" you desire.

Feminine Fitness

These two words are not mutually exclusive. Fitness enhances a woman's femininity. Self confidence, assurance and  pride, are all an important part of being feminine. It's hard to feel attractive, vital, and dynamic if your body is out of balance and it's impossible to achieve your full potential, as a woman, if you have lost your physical fitness. As women, we have certain goals and standards for our bodies. Most of us have learned that endless cardio classes can never bring about these goals. Neither can programs designed for men, because of their different goals and our special needs. I am confident that, feminine fitness can only be achieved through a well designed mixture of good nutrition, cardio, and resistance training.

Nutrition

Starvation diets don't work. Eliminating whole food groups from your diet doesn't work. Trying to exchange your entire diet for someone else's doesn't work. You've probably tried one or all of these in the past. At best, there is a temporary weight loss and then lots of  frustration and regaining of the weight. What does work is finding a proper balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Learning the effects of different types of foods on your metabolism, and learning to fit your favorite foods into a balanced eating plan. Learning how to give your body what it needs to build and maintain firm, shapely muscle tone and reduce the "dead weight" foods that only get stored as fat.

Cardio

Cardio exercise is critical in the development of good cardiovascular and respiratory fitness. It is also a great component to be used for fat burning, if done at the proper intensity and duration for your fitness level. Learning all of the different options you have and which exercises are most efficient, can make cardio exercise a very effective part of your fitness plan.

Resistance Training

Weight training isn't just for the muscle bound and it isn't just for men. Weight training is the fast lane to restoring the muscle tone lost since your younger days.  Becoming firm and toned cannot be achieved simply by losing weight. Fat loss must be combined with muscle development. Muscle, after all, is what gives shape to our bodies. Starvation diets, lack of exercise, too much cardio, and just general neglect, all contribute to loss of  muscle. The development of muscle, in balance, will raise your metabolism, increase your strength and vigor, and restore the curves and firmness of your youth. A lifestyle of true feminine fitness, can only be realized through resistance training, good nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning.

About Me

While I won't post my age here, let's just say that I am a "mature" woman that understands that fitness beyond 40 doesn't "just happen". I face many of the same challenges, with regard to maintaining a body in which I am comfortable, as most of my clients. My approach to feminine fitness training is based on a combination of my own experience and an ever broadening base of information from a host of professionals in the fields of medical and nutritional sciences. I subscribe to, and participate in, a variety of fitness related forums and associations, in the interest of keeping my knowledgebase up to date. I hold several certifications from (listed below) the International Sports and Sciences Association (ISSA), in which I have been a member since 2000. Click on the "ISSA Certification" link (below), for more information on their certification programs. In addition, I have completed several courses and much study on the effects of hormones on fitness, particularly in women.

What My Clients Say

I love my workouts. My weights are my favorite. I totally feel stronger and leaner and people are telling me they can see the "fine lines". I even have my brother talking about eating healthy and lifting weights?   My friends are trying to get into it as well.  I love talking about it and how great  I feel.

Fine Lines Fitness has changed my life.  I started at Fine Lines Fitness over 8 years ago.  I was not fat, but I was not skinny nor was I fit.  Fine Lines Fitness changed my eating habits - going from eating junk to craving healthy foods.  Also FLF changed my body.  I am now very fit and in the best shape of my life in my mid 40s.  I have learned over the years that there is nothing that you can't change on your body by hard work and eating properly and Fine Lines Fitness has taught me that.

Thank you Linda for everything!

Linda is an excellent trainer and fitness professional and I recommend her without reservations.  My sessions with her are challenging but enjoyable at the same time.  I wasn’t getting anywhere working on my fitness alone but after working with Linda I have gained considerable improvement in my overall fitness, strength and posture and I am well on my way in reaching my fitness goals.  I’ve learned that she has extensive knowledge in safe and effective training techniques and nutrition and she knows how to use these resources to get the results that I want.

I’ve learned so much that I didn’t know about fitness and nutrition since I’ve been seeing Linda. It’s taken me from couch potato to running marathons…………..

Breast Cancer

I've recently added a new page to my list of experiences and accomplishments. I’ve become a breast cancer survivor. The diagnosis of Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma is not something anyone would hope for or be pleased with, but surviving it and not losing your zest for life in the process is something to be proud of. It’s still recent, but I feel I’ve already gained experiences and insight into the issues of life for a whole new set of people. Before cancer touched my life, it was rather abstract to me. I had always focused more on the lifestyle preventable diseases that I saw everyday. Although there are some things you can do to lower your chances of getting cancer, there are some things out of your control. I’ve really become a proponent of early detection. This gives you many more options for complete recovery. Also, I’m much better prepared to understand the dietary and exercise needs of someone going through this traumatic disease. I hope to share my insights in the future with anyone they will be of value to.
